My brother worked a landscaping job over the summer and one job featured black and white stones, so he grabbed me a pocketful thinking I could use them. They were a little difficult to work with because the texture is sort of glossy, but I eventually got it to work on this test stone.

On one of the colder days in January 2024, I had an order to pickup at Ikea in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. So, I decided to finally visit the Evans City Cemetery on my way there, as it only required a short detour. The cemetery was where the beginning scenes from the movie “Night of the Living Dead” were filmed. It’s one of my favorite movies and I’ve been meaning to go there ever since I discovered how close it was to me. I’d made plans to go there in the autumn, because it’s a spookier time to visit a cemetery, but I never made it, and actually figured it would be busy that time of year. Ironically, it was 10 degrees when I went there, on a Wednesday afternoon, and there was another fan taking pictures, too! We had a laugh and I helped him re-create some shots from the movie, which he was thankful for because, until I’d arrived, he’d been having a hard time with it by himself.
