Location: Joe's Bar, South Bass Island, Lake Erie

In the summer of 2019, my brother and I made our first camping trip to the Bass Islands in Lake Erie. We were thrilled to find this cool, little bar within walking distance of South Bass State Park on the southern part of the island. Unlike the bars in the Put-In-Bay area, Joe’s Bar was relatively chill, entertaining the majority of visitors for a drink on their way north to the rowdy bars of the island. Each time we take a trip to South Bass, we make sure to visit this bar for a baseball game and a beer or two or three.
